    不以为然于Google的20%自由支配时间

    朋友们聊天,每逢说到Google的20%自由支配时间,大家便羡慕不已。我不以为然。记得一个微软的典故,和我的想法如出一辙。大致说是一个员工在微软工作很多年,得到高层召见,说,你为公司做出了这么多贡献,我们决定奖励你。从现在起你每天有30%的时间可以做你自己喜欢的事。他说,你这不是奖励,我本来每天有100%的时间做我喜欢的事,你却要减到30%。听到这个故事,我很赞同,这正是我的想法。我并不是工作狂,我只是喜欢自己的工作而已。微软早期有无数这样的员工,他们的motivation是自发的,强大的。后来公司扩张太快,在招聘职工上尺度有所下降。我希望微软拥有的是象那个老员工那样的人,如果这样,我相信我们能创造股市的再一个辉煌!
     
    另外Google能否真正实行这个20%自由支配时间,我表示怀疑。软件开发是一个很难准确把握时间的产业,能够按期发布软件,很难;能够不用加班还能按时发布软件,几乎是不可能。另外同行的竞争压力总是存在,大家都想在手头工作上做出业绩。所以很有可能最后这20%的时间会不得已被用在实际工作上,除非Google的软件管理已经理想化,并且自由支配时间的成果也很好的算入performance评定?我看没那么简单。
     
    IMHO关键还是要靠大家自发的工作热情啊!

    如果你碰巧捣鼓出点什么好玩的东西,就可以堂而皇之说是那20%时间里干的,实际上你可能用了50%时间,呵呵
